This week has been a bumper week for me in terms of mentions on the internet, so I thought I'd thank those folks with a little link love.
Thanks to Regina for putting my name so close to Andrea Joseph's, it makes me feel like I'm becoming a real artist. :D
Thanks to Wendy for writing such a great post on Crisis of Confidence - I liked the post even before I saw the wonderful things she wrote about me.
Thanks to Caroline for writing such a sweet comment - I was having a rough morning when I saw that and it turned my whole day around.
I have met such wonderful, encouraging people on the internet. There are some wonderful artists in the online community and it is a privilege to know them and interact with them. There are times, like yesterday, where I just paint something so ridiculous, so awful that a part of me is just horrified. In times past, I might have given up, but because of all the support I receive from the online community, the thought of giving up doesn't ever spill out into action (or rather inaction). So thank you to everyone...my loyal readers, those who comment, those who send emails, those who purchase my work, and those who raise my stats...you are all appreciated.
And to close out, a few things about myself for your amusement:
- I'm tall, very close to six feet. But my husband is four inches taller, my brothers all somewhere between us - so I imagine that I will be the shortest in the family once my sons reach their full heights. :D And yes, they all score over 100 percentile on height at the doctor checkups.
- I've hit a hole in one - on my first and only outing of golf. I won't go a second time. :D
- I once nearly lost a toe riding my bike with flip flops on - don't ever let your loved ones ride a bike without their toes covered. Seriously. You don't want to go there, you really don't.
- I am disciplined about a great many things in life, chocolate, however, is not among the things that I can control.
- My favorite salad "dressing" is a few shakes of tarragon vinegar and some seasoned salt. One of my sisters-in-law famously said, "you have to have your genes to like that." My husband would agree.
well I feel shorter then I normally do lol
That is what I like the most about the blog and artist communities, the support and help you can get from everyone. it does make a huge difference :D

I got quite a surprise to find you are so tall, Rose. I have no idea why, I guess because I'm 5'4" and I see eye to eye with you about most things - so now I'll look up to you. And that won't be hard to do. ;)

Robyn, I got the same reaction from another artist friend last week, that's why I included it. I suppose my name indicates all things small, pink, and feminine - rather different than I am in person. (Apparently my voice is a surprise too, :D). My dear, it is I who have been drooling all over your lovely watercolors this week!

Hey, you are a real artist! You are an amazing "learner" and "discoverer". You have a great feel for "strokes" that I wish I possessed. I am amazed at your talent.
You are taller than I thought, who knows why we get visual pictures of people before we meet them.

Hi Rose,
I am so happy that my comment about your drawings cheered you up!
Nearly 6 feet, oh my gosh! And I have to agree with no.4!

Good Mornin' Rose,
I was surprised to read how tall you are! For some reason I thought you'd be about my height.... 5' 4". Just call me Shrimp!
I couldn't agree more with your comments about internet friends..... and you've been a wonderful source of inspiration to me. Thank you!
