Today was our first day of “Lego school”. My youngest wanted to have some school to do while the two older boys were at their school. So today we worked on the sound “k”. We talked about how both C and K make that sound. We made the letters out of Legos. Then we worked on writing them out. We finished up with building something that starts with that sound….CAR. After we built it my son wanted to draw it, above you see my effort.
Fun to be back to school!
see that is something I would have found fun when I was younger, using legos to learn rather then following along in a simple book that I wanted to chuck at the teacher for being a really low reading level book :p

What an awesome idea!!! The drawing is excellent too. Is your son a right-brained visual learner?

The Legos are definitely sleight of hand on my part - he can do Legos for hours, hours on end. He struggles to sit still and listen - at 4 he even draws while he watches TV. I have no idea what sort of learner he is Valerie - he quotes movie lines so he may be an audio learner. I think it just helps him to have many things to think about at one time.
